FAQ
The business
A home services platform franchise. Every franchisee launches as a handyman business in an exclusive territory, then serves the same households with the rest of what their home needs — cleaning, lawn care, painting, maintenance plans and more — through one local brand and one app.
Diversification. A single-service franchise puts everything on one category; we spread the same customer across many, which lowers concentration risk and removes the single-category ceiling on growth. Underneath, the owner's job is the same — market, sell, look after the customer — so the operating process is no more complex.
On a lead-gen platform the contractor buys the lead, sells the job and owns the customer. Here you own the customer, sell the job and collect the payment. The platform works for you.
No office, no inventory, no payroll at launch. The technology runs booking, dispatch, scheduling and invoicing, and lets you add services and territories without adding overhead.
Handyman has the highest search volume of any home service across nearly every market, so it's the most cost-effective way to win a household, and every visit surfaces the next thing the home needs. It is the acquisition engine for everything else.
Any service where the home or the yard is being worked on. Handyman comes first; cleaning, lawn care, painting, pressure washing and home contractors are typical next steps. You add categories as your market proves demand, and you can adapt the offering over time.
No. You don't deliver the work — your pros do. You build and run the business.
One trusted local concierge for everything the home needs: no quote-chasing, no haggling, background-checked and insured pros, fair pre-priced rates, a one-year warranty on handyman work and a satisfaction guarantee. We're the Advil for the homeowner.
How the business makes money
In four stages, each funded by the one before it. Deliver (handyman, in-house from day one). Retain (maintenance plans and the app, offered after the first successful visit). Refer (everything else to vetted preferred vendors, for a commission). Insource (bring a category in-house once demand is proven).
Insource — you record the sale and collect the payment, and your team or a vendor does the work. Refer — the vendor records the sale and you earn a commission. The line is who records the sale, not who does the work.
Vetted local pros you recruit and onboard for the work you insource, and vetted preferred vendors for the work you refer. You're the business owner, not the technician.
Membership plans with scheduled maintenance visits through the year and 10–15% off all handyman work, depending on the plan. They're offered at the close of a customer's first visit and give members a permanent reason to call you first.
Once a customer has used you for one service and trusts you, they're 97% likely to hire you for others. That's how you get more out of a territory than a single-service business can.
By making it worth their while on both sides. Clients get one trusted concierge, pre-priced work, member discounts and an app that holds their whole home history. Pros get pre-sold, pre-priced jobs with no lead fees. Twenty years in, we've built specific practices into the model that keep both sides on the platform.
Yes — property managers, HOAs, apartment communities, landlords and realtors. Tenant turnover work is the clearest example: handyman work that repeats on the property manager's schedule.
Customers find you on the web through your local site and local search. On top of that, you build relationships with the organisations that touch many homes at once — HOAs, apartment communities, property managers and realtors — with exclusive rates for their residents and clients.
More than a single-service franchise can. Because you serve the same customer across multiple services, your revenue isn't capped by one category's ceiling — every household you win is a customer for everything their home needs.
Investment & fees
The franchise fee is $34,999 for an exclusive territory with a population of up to 50,000. The total estimated initial investment is $49,099 to $94,799, per Item 7 of the FDD. Most of the difference is marketing and working capital.
Up to 50,000 people, $34,999. Between 50,000 and 75,000 there is a small additional fee, up to $10,000. Above 75,000 it counts as two territories and a second fee applies.
A 6% royalty, a 2% brand development fund and a $600 per month software license fee covering the websites, apps and CRM.
No. The model is lean — no physical office, no payroll at launch. Most of the working capital goes to marketing.
Yes. Active-duty and retired U.S. military receive a $2,500 rebate on royalties.
We don't finance directly, but we work with third parties who can help you explore financing options, and we're happy to make referrals.
Territory
An exclusive territory with a population of around 50,000, built from whole, adjacent zip codes forming a clear geographic unit.
Other home service franchises offer one service, so they may need to give a franchisee a large area to make the business viable. Send Me a Pro lets you offer multiple services to the same customer under one brand, so you earn more from the same customer base in a more efficient area.
Yes. Territories are customised to your investment level — from a zip code or two to half a county or more. We can also work backwards from your target investment.
With you, during discovery. All zip codes are adjacent, the area forms a clear geographic unit, and no zip code is split.
Yes. Many owners take two or three contiguous territories to secure a region. Commit to three or more at the same time and receive a $5,000 discount.
No, but it should be close enough for local marketing and relationship-building.
Yes. Territory mapping is part of discovery, based on your zip code preferences, goals and investment level.
Ownership
No. Full-time, part-time/semi-absentee and 100% passive ownership are all available. In the passive model you appoint a manager and we train them directly.
Yes. There's no office and nothing physical to build. Booking, scheduling, dispatch and customer communication all run from the app, wherever you are.
Yes, the model has been used by E-2 and other investment-visa candidates. Consult your immigration attorney on your own circumstances.
Training, technology, launch & support
The Franchise Academy — on-demand modules plus live sessions — covering the model, pricing your handyman offering for your market, recruiting and onboarding pros, selling maintenance plans, and local marketing. A dedicated business coach works with you weekly.
Inside training. By the final weeks you're recruiting and onboarding your first five to ten handymen, so they're in place when marketing switches on. Preferred vendors come later, recruited against real customer demand — we show you how to approach and onboard them.
Five to ten handymen. Vendors for other categories are added as customers ask for them.
One app, three users. Clients request estimates, book, track and pay; professionals run their jobs and schedules; you run the business from your phone. The platform automates matching, dispatch, scheduling, invoicing and payments, and it's custom-built and company-owned.
Approximately five weeks from the start of training. Company set-up, local website and pricing, sales and marketing training, and recruiting your handyman team.
A local website, flyers and brochures, email campaigns, social templates, video ads, press release and access to preferred marketing vendors — plus the local marketing playbook you learn in the Academy.
Applying & the company
Owners with a proven track record and strong sales and communication skills, who can build relationships, lead a team and follow a plan. Many come to us after looking at a single-service home services franchise and realising they can offer that service — and every other one the home needs — on our platform.
Application → introductory call → territory review → unit economics → FDD review → franchise agreement. Typically two to four weeks. It's mutual due diligence; we're selective, and we ask you to come prepared.
Our version of Discovery Day is built into the process over a few weeks. Rather than overloading you with information on one specific day, we share it throughout as we get to know each other. It gives you a better understanding of the model.
We're a fully remote company with a global team, in line with leading technology companies. Our roots are in the Washington DC area.
Yes, for candidates who want to develop a whole region. See the Area Representative page.
